The child's eyes represent the future she may await when she becomes older due to the the struggle that surrounds her. The reason why the author uses her eyes to show type future she faces

I agree with your observation.

Even though she's a little girl, looking in her eyes, it's as if you can already see her future. The poet described her eyes because it seems as if you can see her struggle and what she's been through and will go through in her life in the future. She's a poor little girl who plays with a worn out, used, old cloth doll, which is her only toy. The little girl is dirty, doesn't have shoes to wear & her dog, llama, hair and clothes are dirty, tangled and muddy.

Good observation.

The child's eyes are described as sad and tired and it is speculated that she has the same look as those of the saleswomen that sell chickens and onions. The poet describes this because she wants to depict that not many children have a bright future ahead ahead of them.

good observation why do you think the author didn't use any other body part or outfit to depot the expected of her future.

That's a good analysis but what makes her look sad and tired by looking in her eyes ? How does the poet depict that she may not have a good future ahead of her ?

That's a very good observation

The people didnt care for the little girl who for all they know could have been hungry or sick. All they cared for was a picture.

The Childs Eyes Look Old and weary. They Suggest That she has been through a lot at such a young age and that she looks like the older women who sell things at the market. This is letting us know that the little girl might be headed for the same thing.

good observation, do you think they used any metaphor inside the poem to indicate that she may face the same outcome?

The thing that the child's eyes represent about her life is what she is going to be later in life. The poet described such eyes because it show that the little poor girl is going to have a poor depressing life.

The child's eyes awaits her future which is selling chickens and onions by outdoor markets . She was very sad and lonely .

Good job, but how can you tell by looking in her eyes that in her future she will be selling chickens and onions in outdoor markets ? Also how can you tell that the little girl is sad and lonely ?

I believe that the girl's eyes are a symbol of how hard her life is, being compared to an older working woman. The child is clearly poor, and herds animals. The way she looks at the tourists are like aliens, wearing clean clothes drinking ice cold holy water. The author potrayles This by simple comparison.

Great observation but why did the poet decide to use the girls eyes to signify that she had the same future as the workers?
