Hester's role in society is to help those who have been put low in hierarchy in society. After moving to England for a period of time, she comes back to once again help the poor and the sick. Hester is satisfied with this role and accepts it knowing that she will not find love again after the death of Dimmesdale and wants to turn her sunshine to those who need it the most. Hester dies later on and is buried next to Dimmesdale. She is seen as one who has lived a full life and is who will be able to ascend to heaven with the fulfillment of her duties. Pearl, who used to be a child of anger, is now a child of love, truth and honor and she is symbol of what Hester has left on this world. The scarlet letter which used to bring negativity is now used in a positive manner to describe a women who helped many. A theme in which Hester faced was the choice to become good or evil. Despite all the negativity and hatred thrown at her for most of the book, she kept a strong light and continued to stay true to herself and good towards others.

I agree with the comments you made and to add to the reason she excepted her new role, it was more than just about Dimmesdale. In light of all she'd been through it was a great fit for her because she knew first hand how harsh the people in authority could be and she had the ability to be effective in their lives.

Hester’s role in society is to show as an example for those who commit such shame. Her view of the role is to help others and guide people who have been in similar situations. The themes, symbols, and rhetorical devices in these chapters are the motivation to keep going and face ones shame.

I disagree i view Hesters role as an example to others that no matter what anyone says or thinks of you aslong as you show respect and dignity and dont let people belittle you for your mistakes you'll be fine. Good view points though👍🏾.

I completely agree. Hester's role in society was to how it was like for a person after they did such a shameful act. Her view of the role is to help others who may have been in the same exact situations. The theme is just motivation.

Hester's role is that of a guardian angel. Hester helps those who were regarding as low in society and not treated and respected fairly in the community's hierarchy. Hester has accepted her role as "the help" in Puritan society.
Theme: within each person is the capacity for good and evil
Symbol: the Scarlett letter

I agree with your statement. Hester, who has been tormented throughout her life has changed her letter from that of "Adulterer" to "Able". She is now considered a helper in society because of all the work that she puts in to help the poor and those who are needing of someone to speak to.

Hester’s role in society can be describe as an aide for other people who went through what she did in her life or people who are low rank in society. She didn’t live the easies life but through it all she accept what people thought of her and took it with resilient. Her view of the Role is a helper. She helps people in the Puritan society not go through what she went through. Themes: Acceptance, and helpful

I agree, she didnt have the best life but she has overcome her downfall and has been accepted back to her community as a result of her conquering her mistakes. Your themes are right it is acceptance through out the whole book.

Hester's role is to help those who have been shunned by society, as she was. Rather than maintaining the negativity that was aimed towards her, she made something great out of a bad mistake. After her death, although a tragedy, she became more than just a person, she became a symbol. One of strength, courage, and the will to overcome anything. Pearl, too, became no longer a child from sin but a child of beauty and innocence. Hawthorne truly gave Hester the divine justice she deserved. I was so pleased with this ending and it is an amazing and memorable tale.

Hester role is to help people who have been isolated from society just like she was. The scarlet letter was given to her to make her feel ashamed and make negatively towards her but in her later years she turn her negative past into something that strengths her and impowers her to help others when she dies, she's buried next to dimmesdale , and leaves behind pearl who wants was a destructive child is now a mature and responsible young women . The theme was motivation and symbol is Hester's good nature.

Hester's role in society is to serve as a helper to anyone who may have suffered from their choices or positions in society . After her travels she returns to help both the poor and sick . Hesters role brings her pleasure she has came to recognize she wont find another love like Dimmesdale, but she chooses to stay positive . The theme was motivation and symbol is Hester's kind and unselfish disposition.

Hester new role in society was to help those who were in need from sick to poor. Hester is satisfied and accepting of her role it's self-fulfilling. As for the theme and symbols Pearl is the perfect example of her parents relationship & mistakes that started with discourse but ended in forgiveness and important. Pearl who was once an alienated and bitter little girl with a temper is now a lot more joyous and loving. She is basically the symbol of how anger & discourse can become better if you make the right decisions and come clear of those mistakes.

After all that Hester has gone through she decides to use the events to counsel those who have been put down by society for violating the strict and harsh beliefs. Hester finds peace in this role and knows this is the best way to honor the man she loved and cope with her loss. The themes in these chapters are satisfaction and resolution.
